This past month we took a road trip to the mountains, we hiked, we ate good food, we visited old town museums, and we played in every form of water we could find! It made me miss the hot summers when all you kiddos want to do is swim, swim, swim. On this day, a moment between you two brothers happened that I will always remember with great pride. You, my big sweet boy, jumped right in the hot spring pool, just like you do with everything in life. Your little brother on the other hand was a bit more timid.
I remember vividly that you used to be the same way around water, and now your diving off of diving boards. I get a little misty eyed reminiscing about how I “blinked” and another year has flown by. I was heading over to catch your brother with my big ole underwater housing in both hands. You reached up to him and said “just jump, I’ll catch you buddy”. I watched your little brothers face light up as he stepped closer to the edge, I beamed with pride. There was so much love and trust between the two of you, something I could have only dreamed of instilling in my children. We are a unit, the five of us. We trust, we forgive, we love hard, but most of all, we catch each other when we fall or when we jump, we hold on tight, and we lift each other right back up.
